D217 District Bucks

District Bucks is an innovative, electronic only awards funds tracking/spending system. District Bucks were first used by District 57 in response to clubs needing to go hybrid in 2021. The District Bucks program has continued to expand as more Districts incorporate District Bucks in their incentive and recognition programs. The District manages these electronic funds, tracking clubs earned awards (District Bucks) and accumulating the District Bucks into club “accounts”. District Bucks are an alternative to TI Gift Certificates.

Like TI Gift Certificates, District Bucks recognizes Clubs ‘ efforts and achievements. The program is designed to make it easier to spend the awards and encourages spending the award.

As clubs spend their District Bucks, more TI merchandise is circulated within the membership and community, promoting engagement and fun. Clubs are doing more at their meetings.

Roll out History

• For our initial 4th qtr rollout, April of 2025, Clubs used their 2024-2025 awarded bucks to place orders for TI merchandise from the District Store. Our online ordering system was a google form when club offices entered the TI item number and quantity being ordered.

• July, 2025, the District expanded the use of District Bucks to also cover concur expense reporting. Club Treasurer is issued a concur expense account and submits the expense for reimbursement via the Toastmasters concur expense reimbursement tool. District Bucks gives Clubs the ability to make purchases without using clubs’ membership revenue funds.

• In March, 2026, as part of the D117 Conference, the District set up an online store using a 3rd party store hosting tool. We expect to use this until October and are looking at other hosting options.
