D217 District Bucks

District Bucks are an innovative, electronic awards tracking/spending system. The District creates initiatives where clubs earn District Bucks, tracks clubs earned awards and accumulates the District Bucks into clubs electronic “accounts”.

District Bucks are designed to make it easier to spend the awards and encourage spending the award.

District Bucks are an alternative to TI Gift Certificates. Like TI Gift Certificates, District Bucks are issued by the District to recognizes Clubs' achievements.

As clubs spend more District Bucks, clubs are doing more at their meetings. TI merchandise is circulated thorughout the membership and into the community, promoting engagement and fun.

D217 Roll out History

• For our initial 4th qtr rollout, April of 2025, Clubs used their 2024-2025 awarded bucks to place orders for TI merchandise from the District Store. Our online ordering system was a google form when club offices entered the TI item number and quantity being ordered.

• July, 2025, the District expanded the use of District Bucks to also cover concur expense reporting. Club Treasurer is issued a concur expense account and submits the expense for reimbursement via the Toastmasters concur expense reimbursement tool. District Bucks gives Clubs the ability to make purchases without using clubs’ membership revenue funds.

• In March, 2026 for the D117 Conference, the District set up an online store We expect to use this until October and are looking at other hosting options.

District Bucks were first used by District 57 in response to clubs needing to go hybrid in 2021. The District Bucks program has continued to expand as more Districts incorporate District Bucks in their incentive and recognition programs.
